Harry Kemble

Seabourn has released details of its new expedition ship’s inaugural itineraries, featuring

ex-UK sailings. Seabourn Venture had been

scheduled to launch in Greenwich, London, in December 2021, but its maiden voyage was pushed back to April 2022 due to supply chain and pandemic issues. The 264-passenger vessel’s

maiden voyage will be a 12-day Wild & Ancient British Isles sailing from Greenwich to Leith in Scotland.

CroisiEurope adds four itineraries for next year

CroisiEurope has added four itineraries, spanning Germany, the Netherlands and the Aegean Sea, to its 2022 river and ocean programmes. They include 10 Best of the Netherlands departures between April 4 and October 18 next year on Victor Hugo. Prices start from £1,291. A round-trip six-day Floriade Expo cruise from Amsterdam starts from £765. croisieurope.co.uk

travelweekly.co.uk Ports of call include the Isles

of Scilly, Dublin, Isle of Mull and Kirkwall. Prices start from £11,999. The ship will then sail a 12-day

Scottish and Norse Legends Expedition voyage from Leith to Tromso, Norway. The lead-in price is £8,999. Both voyages are now

available to book. Seabourn Venture’s previously

announced itineraries to the Arctic begin on May 4, 2022. Destinations in Svalbard, Norway, Iceland and Greenland are included in the vessel’s debut programme. seabourn.com

Hurtigruten to set sail for the White Sea

Hurtigruten Expeditions has scheduled a 17-day cruise next year taking in Norway’s Lofoten Islands and the northernmost point of the European mainland. The Expedition Cruise to the White Sea – Norway and Russia Adventure aboard Spitsbergen will set sail from Bergen, Norway, on October 6, 2022. Prices start from £5,188. hurtigruten.co.uk

The airport is returning to normal and we have welcomed back the air rail link, the popular free transfer between the airport and the International station. Most of the outlets in our departure lounge are open for business again, meaning there is a great selection of restaurants and shops for your passengers to choose from. Our Aspire Lounge is also back open for those seeking a quieter space with runway views.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Air India back soon. It’s been six months since they were last on our runway! Brussels Airlines is also back, serving the popular business route to Brussels. For leisure passengers still looking to get away this year, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has added even more capacity to leisure and green list destinations Malta and Croatia (Split).

As always, please drop us a line if you have any questions via our social channels or email at Travel.Trade@ birminghamairport.co.uk.

Bye for now!

As the school holidays come to a close, we see the end of the traditional family summer holiday period and welcome the start of couples’ getaway time. It has been great to see a bustling airport again and we are delighted that clients have been able to take to the skies on holidays or eagerly on their way to reunite with family and friends. Although it’s been great to see, passenger numbers are still a long way off where they would normally be in the summer months.
