yyThe Single Text question is worth 60 marks and you should spend around 55 minutes answering it. yyThere is no set length – the size and speed of people’s handwriting varies – but most essays will be between four and five pages long.
Types of questions Questions in the Single Text section tend to focus on the following areas:
Characters yyBe prepared to discuss groups of similar/contrasting characters or relationships between characters.
yyRemember, you will never be asked to write a simple character sketch! Think about the character’s role, development and relationship with others.
