Michelmersh Group unveils new additions to its Carlton Capital Collection

three stunning additions to its Carlton Capital Collection: Ripley Thatch, Golden Thatch, and Golden Sandfaced. These new bricks off er an exciting palette of warm, earthy tones, perfect for architects and housebuilders looking to create striking facades with plenty of depth and memorable character. Each brick within this collection has been crafted to provide both
aesthetic charm and outstanding technical performance, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards while maintaining the timeless appeal associated with Carlton bricks.
RIPLEY THATCH Measuring 215mm x 102.5mm x 65mm, Ripley Thatch is a red multi-brick with dark buff , brown, and purple hues. Its rustic textured thatch fi nish enhances its traditional aesthetic, making it ideal for projects seeking a blend of heritage and contemporary style. This extruded wirecut brick boasts T2, R1, F2, S2 classifi cations and a compressive strength of 40N/mm².
GOLDEN THATCH Also 215mm x 102.5mm x 65mm, Golden Thatch is a buff -brown extruded wirecut brick with a rustic thatch texture, balancing heritage and innovation. It seamlessly integrates into restoration projects and contemporary builds, off ering exceptional durability and technical specifi cations identical to Ripley Thatch.

AIM’s Acoustic infi lls to reduce reverberation at Hartlepool Active Wellbeing Hub

IM – Acoustic & Insulation Manufacturing’s cut to fi t Acoustic Trough Infi lls have been incorporated into roof areas at Hartlepool’s new £34.65m ‘Highlight’ Active Wellbeing Hub. Designed to reduce reverberation in buildings with a high proportion of hard internal surfaces, especially where noise is generated within the building such as sports facilities, the infi lls fi t into the troughs of perforated metal profi les used in structural steel roof decks.
The new facility will open at The
Waterfront, Hartlepool, in autumn 2025, replacing the town’s ageing 1970s leisure centre. The development for Hartlepool Borough Council is being delivered in partnership with main contractor Wates, a leader in the sport and leisure sector, while the striking design has been created by GT3 Architects. Via SIG Tyneside, AIM has supplied the Acoustic Trough Infi lls for two large roof areas to Wates’ contractor Chemplas, the North East-based roofi ng, glazing company.

AIM Acoustic Trough Infi lls are available in a range of densities and are factory cut to suit any trapezoidal profi le or perforated standing seam decking. The infi lls are stone wool, which is recognised as a good sound absorbing material. Acoustic performance is dependent on the structure of the deck and the open area within it.
