CHAPTER 5: CELLS AND THE MICROSCOPE ACTIVITY 3: ANIMAL CELL MODEL
1 Models are used to help us to explain and understand concepts in Science and they can be used to form a link between the model and reality for our intended audience.
Using diagrams or construction materials, make a model of a plant or an animal cell. Use a key to identify the different parts of the cell model you have made. Include the function of each part of the cell.
2 Consider the model you have created and answer the following questions. a. How does your cell model compare to real cells?
b. How does your cell model differ from real cells?
c. How accurate is your cell model? Is your model to scale?
d. What purpose could your model serve?
e. Does your model have any limitations? If so, outline what they are.
