WITCO EXPANDS RELATIONSHIP WITH PETRO-CANADA
Witco has expanded its existing relationship with Petro-Canada Lubricants of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Petro-Canada will become Witco's supplier of most grades of paraffinic white oils used in certain applications and Witco will be Petro-Canada's exclusive distributor of these white oils in North America, Latin America and Asia Pacific. The new agreement will provide customers with Witco's superior service and quality levels together with the vertically integrated supply efficiencies of Petro-Canada. Witco's sales, marketing and distribution organisation will service Witco and Petro-Canada paraffinic white mineral oil customers for a variety of applications. Witco will continue to manufacture limited grades of paraffinic white oils, petrolatum, microcrystalline wax, compressor lubricants, cable fillers, refrigeration oils, naphthenic white oils, ink oils, and petroleum distillates at its Petrolia, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. Its Amsterdam, Holland, facility will continue to manufacture its current line of products to serve its European business. Witco's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer E. "Our customers and those of Petro-Canada can expect a seamless transition in their supply of paraffinic white oil products," added Witco's Performance Chemicals Vice President - Refined Products Timothy Mulhere. "We will continue to supply these products from our Petrolia facility while Petro-Canada's operations are being qualified by our customers, but all customers will have immediate access to our high level of customer and technical service." FINA APPOINTS NEW WHITE OILS BUSINESS MANAGER
Oil Company Fina has appointed Paul Butler as Business Manager for White Oils. Paul replaces Brian Page, who retired at the end of September, after a career in Fina, which extended over thirty years. Paul's experience in this specialised market has been gained during the last 20 years within the oil industry, working for major international companies, such as Castrol and Gulf Oil.

There are serious concerns that many businesses, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, may not be doing sufficient to investigate whether or not the "Millennium Bug" will affect their systems.
