ast week’s chart was well- stocked with new releases across all categories and 15 hit the Official UK Top 50, including three début authors. However, the paperback edition of The Last Devil to Die by reign- ing champion Richard Osman comfortably outpaced the latest release from Stephen King by more than 12,000 copies. Osman claimed his 40th Top 50 number one, making it a hat-trick for The Thursday Murder Club title, and his 52nd Mass-Market Fiction number one.


Unit sales were up through Nielsen BookScan’s Total Consumer Market by 8% on the previous seven-day period, reaching £28.8m for a similar bump in value on the previous
