Bookstat pre-order number one for the first three months of the year. A week ago, the second cookbook in the Bored of Lunch series thun- dered into the UK Official Top 50 number one spot, selling 111,228 copies in its first week. Bookstat’s estimate pre-order figure clocks in at 65,713 units, nearly two-thirds of its launch week sale. With its predecessor, The Healthy Slow Cooker Book, notching up the over- all top spot and a six-week streak in the Hardback Non-Fiction pole since early January, it makes sense that a particularly strong number of pre-order sales built up. Coupled with the fact that the air fryer really is the energy-efficient kitchen appliance of the moment, given the number of new air fryer cookbooks sizzling into the charts, and perhaps that as we head towards spring an eight-hour slow-cooked beef stew starts to lose the lustre it had in the cosy season, The Healthy Air Fryer Book looks likely to topple its predecessor in sales at some point fairly soon. While air fryer supremacy
will make sense to anyone who has so much as glanced at The Bookseller charts pages or indeed
