The ERT mystery shopping team has been out and about in Canterbury to check up on the sales skills of electrical retailers across the city

THIS 10,000sq ft store was previously Barretts Digital World, before being purchased by Stellisons. I was there looking to buy a washing machine. After ascertaining my needs, Steven suggested that I look at machines with a capacity of 8kg and he presented three models in turn, starting with a Miele WDD020, which was priced at £799.99. He said that the Miele model featured 12 wash
programs, including a 20-minute Express wash, and had been tested for up to 20 years of use. It also came with a five-year warranty.
The second model was an 8kg Siemens WM14W590GB, which was priced at £699.99. He said that this model also came with a five-year warranty and featured a 15-minute fast wash. The Miele WKH122WPS at £1,249.99, he said, could deliver an A-rated cleaning performance in less than an hour and he highlighted its automatic liquid detergent dispensing system. Steven pointed out that the two Miele models
were each offered with a cashback deal. Delivery of the new appliance would be free too, he added.
