Metro Delivers AS365 N3+ to Miami Valley CareFlight


Metro Aviation delivered a recently


completed AS365 N3+ to Miami Valley CareFlight Air and Mobile Services in Dayton, Ohio. Originally introduced in the 1970s, the latest version of this platform boasts upgraded engines and avionics and is the fi rst AS365 N3+ to be completed by Metro.

chose Metro because it was obvious from the start that they have an innovative approach to ensuring the aircraft is completed to best work for our program and, most importantly, for our patients,” said Vice President of Premier Health Candy Skidmore.


Metro Aviation recently received an STC for the AS365 N3+ medical interior utilizing the same technology as recent EC155 B1 models completed by Metro. The STC includes a primary patient carbon fi ber stretcher on track and swivel and secondary patient provisions, fl at machined medical fl oor, LOX and built- in suction outlets, and forward and aft communication panels among other features.


Metro Aviation Managing Director Milton Geltz said, “The greatest challenge was to provide the crew dual patient capability

serves more than 150 hospitals in over 17 counties. CareFlight’s Dauphin helicopters are equipped as mobile intensive care units and are available 24 hours a day. CareFlight operates four AS365s and has completed more than 51,000 fl ights since its beginning in 1983.


Night Vision Awards Presents Mark of Excellence Award and NIGHTCON Lifetime Achievement Award

committee members consisting of Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Night Flight Concepts, Vertical magazine and Rotorcraft Pro magazine presented the Mark of Excellence Award to Air Methods Corporation and the NIGHTCON Lifetime Achievement Award to retired San Diego Police pilot Kevin Means at the 2014 NIGHTCON seminar in Dallas, Texas, on August 20th in front of more than 100 industry leaders.


All Metal MS Introduces the AS350 Canopy for Aircraft Maintenance


All Metal Maintenance Stands recently


introduced the Canopy for Aircraft Maintenance (CAM) for the AS350. The CAM is All Metal’s innovative approach to providing a solution for aircraft and mechanic protection in adverse weather.


The CAM is a multi-sectional cover that utilizes the main rotor system of a helicopter to secure protection from the elements, providing a shaded environment for maintenance to be performed on the aircraft.


The CAM is easily installed and removed by one mechanic and provides protection from inclement


weather conditions to allow for maintenance to be performed
