HAT.tec Integrates Lifeseeker to Drive Unified Situational Awareness Across All Units in SAR Missions

Centum and HAT.tec recently completed the integration of Centum’s Lifeseeker system into the HAT.tec Mission System.

BY THE NUMBERS 600+

The number of exhibitors anticipated at Verticon 2026 (formerly Heli-Expo) in Atlanta this coming March. They expect to display over 60 aircraft! We won’t be displaying our luxury, envy-provoking helicopter, but Rotor Pro plans to bring print copies of our next issue (Jan-Feb 2026) to distribute at the expo. See you in the Peach State!

40 Nov/Dec 2025

This marks a new milestone in airborne search and rescue (SAR) technology.

This development allows operators to benefit from Lifeseeker’s unique capability to locate missing persons through their mobile phones, even in areas without network coverage. By doing

so, it enhances mission effectiveness and situational awareness during complex and time-critical SAR operations.

By integrating Lifeseeker directly into its Mission System, HAT.tec further enhances its technologies by enabling crews to visualize the full incident picture

445,000

The approximate number of FAA-licensed UAV/drone pilots in the United States who hold a Remote Pilot Certificate that allows them to operate drones for commercial purposes.

1,350

The approximate number of new U.S. military helicopter pilots annually trained. Most training for the Army, and the relatively small Air Force helicopter pilot program, is conducted at Fort Rucker (aka Fort Novosel), Alabama. Army helicopter pilot training is on hiatus for multiple reasons, including the number of training Class-A “mishaps” that resulted in 45 fatalities in FY2020- 24. Navy pilots are trained at Helicopter Training Command in Pensacola, Florida.
