Entrol Strengthens Pilot Training with the Delivery of S-64 FTD Level 6 Simulator
Entrol recently announced the sale and upcoming delivery of an S-64 FTD Level 6 simulator to the Korea Forest Aviation Headquarters. Scheduled for installation before the end of 2026, this state-of-the-art simulator represents a significant technological and operational leap in the training of one of the world’s most complex and specialized helicopters, primarily used in firefighting operations.
A unique simulator for an extraordinary helicopter
The simulator is an accurate replica of the S-64E helicopter, renowned for its high complexity and firefighting capabilities. The Korea Forest Aviation Headquarters will have a device equipped with Entrol’s advanced Control Loading System and two Garmin GTN 750 Xi avionics systems, ensuring maximum simulation accuracy and real aircraft familiarization.
The simulator is equipped with Entrol’s Enwall Complete LED Solution and Envision visual system, offering ultra-realistic graphics, full-brightness display, and exceptional color accuracy.
To maximize mission realism, the simulator also includes a vibration system, Initial NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System) capabilities, and a debriefing station for post-mission analysis. The Entrol Mission Package provides advanced modules for firefighting, external cargo operations, and water collection and deployment using sea snorkels and water cannons.
Advanced training for elite firefighting pilots
With this simulator, the Korea Forest Aviation Headquarters will be able to perform aircraft-specific training and prepare for high-risk aerial firefighting missions with greater safety, repeatability, and mission effectiveness.
The project has been developed in close collaboration with Jinone Heli-Support, Entrol’s official agent in Korea. Jinone’s involvement was essential in tailoring the simulator to meet the operational and environmental needs of the Korea Forest Aviation Headquarters. Jinone will also participate in ongoing communications to strengthen Entrol’s visibility in the Korean market.
Iñigo Hernández, business manager at Entrol, stated, “The S-64 FTD Level 6 simulator for the Korea Aviation Headquarters is one of our most complex and challenging projects. Replicating such a specialized helicopter is a technical feat and a clear demonstration of our ability to develop tailored solutions. This unit will be the second existing S-64 FTD available worldwide and strengthens our leadership in high-fidelity simulation for critical missions, especially in firefighting.”
“Working with Jinone has been essential to understanding and adapting the simulator to the specific Korean environment and operational needs of our client. We are confident this simulator will elevate pilot training and safety in highly sensitive missions such as firefighting.”
