Analog flight instruments have become progressively more expensive and difficult to repair. Spare parts are scarce, lead times have become unreliable, and many OEMs have entirely discontinued aftermarket support.
Alpine Aerotech has developed a simple plug-and-play solution to upgrade pilot/copilot heading and attitude indicators with robust digital alternatives. The instruments are currently certified in Canada, the USA, and Europe for Bell 205/212 aircraft engaged in visual flight rules (VFR) operations.
In contrast to other integrated glass cockpits, most customers can install the kit locally with minimal structural and avionic resources required. Aerotech provides all adapter plates, wiring harnesses, and mounting brackets to guarantee straightforward installation. In addition to the original instruments, the installer can also remove the Tarsyn/rate gyros, flux valve, remote compensator, compass control and all associated wiring, leaving fewer components to fail in service. The kit comes complete with a two-year warranty on all components.
