News Scottish home to prioritise GP visits

Luxury home Cramond Residence in Edinburgh has announced that it will prioritise resident care by ensuring twice- weekly GP appointments. Cramond Residence, which specialises in dementia care, already boasts a wellness and physiotherapy suite, a room dedicated to Allied Health Professionals, and a gym. Since its opening in October 2018 after an

investment of £8m, the Cramond Residence has championed the concept of small group living, emphasising social connections. Specialising in a comprehensive

range of dementia care services, the home accommodates residents in both its communal living spaces and a dedicated section for those with advanced dementia needs.

General manager Ross Bijak said: “Usually, those who stay with us are dealing with complex health issues and we want to

ensure that we provide them with the very best healthcare possible. “We’re incredibly fortunate to be able

to provide this to our residents, by offering frequent GP checkups we can ensure we are on top of any medical concerns and that our resident’s families can have peace of mind knowing that any issues are frequently monitored and managed. “We believe we have one of the best care

programmes in Scotland. We have a fantastic in-house nursing team and state-of-the-art facilities and this is further solidified by the frequent GP visits which our residents benefit from every Tuesday and Friday. “Our team keep the GPs updated about

on any medical challenges that our residents face, and then after a thorough check-up, the GP’s insights help us update our records and fine-tune care plans to meet each resident’s unique needs.”

with Oliver McCarthy at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Gary Boyce at Christie Finance, Neva Manor has been purchased by new market entrant, Swapna Kundil.

Cheshire home sold to first-time buyer

Leading healthcare broker Redwoods Dowling Kerr has announced the sale of Norton Lodge in Cheshire.

Norton Lodge is a residential care home for the elderly in Runcorn, Cheshire. Registered for up to 32 residents across 30 bedrooms, the home has garnered an excellent reputation in the region, with high occupancy levels. The business was purchased by a first-time

buyer after the original owners announced their plan to pursue other ventures within the healthcare sector.

Healthcare broker at Redwoods Dowling Kerr Asif Musa said: “We received a great deal of interest for this residential care home. The sale of this business demonstrates that the appetite for residential homes remains high in the region. We managed to get an excellent result for all parties to the sale. I would like to wish my

client all the best with her future endeavours.” The buyer added: “I would like to thank Asif Musa for making this transaction happen. He is very knowledgeable and was extremely helpful. I am very grateful to him for being proactive and supportive during the complex sale process.”

Dan and Brinda, former owners of Neva Manor, said: “We have run this business for the last 17 years. It has been an exciting yet challenging journey, but we are pleased to say we have achieved our goals and look forward to our future. We wish the new owner success in this new venture.” New owner Swapna Kundil commented: “I’m excited and looking forward to taking over Neva Manor and continuing the excellent care Brinda and Dan have provided. The home presents the ideal first purchase within the care sector for me and comes with very capable staff, who I will work closely with to provide the best possible care to our residents.” Oliver McCarthy, associate director – care at Christie & Co, added: “I’m so pleased to have sold this great care home for Brinda and Dan who have worked tirelessly over the years to create a warm and friendly care home.
