of Excellence dedicated to chemistry and instrument disinfection.” “In supporting Getinge to realise its strategic ambition, Quadralene is rightly being recognised for its expertise in decontamination technology,” says Bob Newsome, managing director, Quadralene. “Our aim is to continue to innovate within our market, which has been the hallmark of our growth to date and, by becoming an in- house consumables manufacturer, we hope to expand the global appeal of the whole Getinge portfolio. The creation of the Centre of Excellence for chemistry and instrument decontamination at our Derby offices is an important part for our business, and excellent news for the team at Quadralene and the city itself.”
Getinge also recently launched a new and improved benchtop endoscope packaging system – the Getinge Vac-a-Scope – which stores endoscopes, preserving the endoscopes integrity from reprocessing through to the procedure room. “With the recent concerns over airborne pathogens, such as COVID-19, it has become more important than ever to securely contain endoscopes throughout the entire process including transportation and/ or storage,” says Don Socha, endoscopy segment and product line manager at Getinge.
The easy-to-use system comprises of: a vacuum unit, a process monitoring system, a selection of trays, liners and vacuum bags to both protect clean endoscopes and staff from dirty endoscopes. And, as with all Getinge products, the system has been designed with patient safety in mind. The tamper-proof, triple-sealed vacuum bag allows endoscopes to be stored for up to 30 days, in line with EN 16442: 2015, without the need to introduce additional contaminants that could compromise safety or cleanliness.
