England receives hard water, which must be taken into account when specifying the materials of products. Polycarbonate tanks will limit the amount of limescale that builds up in a unit, while a conditioner is useful for raising the quality of the water supplied in a hospital. In areas of particularly hard water, softening may be required in order to reduce risk (as specified in HTM 04-01, A, 6.9.).


Addressing complacency Healthcare facilities have a multitude of safety measures to consider, and it can often feel like a case of spinning a dozen plates at once.
