August 2021
The record for the biggest ever G3 issue didn’t last long. We’ve smashed it this month with a 262 page whopper in which you’ll find all the market reports from the last 12 months combined into this enormous compendium of gaming industry facts, figures and speculation. We’ve covered a great deal of ground over the course of the 2020-2021 period, having to adjust and update all our research as Covid-19 has reset the gaming industry in every market it has touched.
Another highlight this month is our the exclusive interview with Clarion Gaming’s Group MD, Alex Pratt. A lot has changed since the last ICE London show in 2020, not just in response to the pandemic, but the spectre of Brexit continues to loom large in the minds of European exhibitors and visitors.
WE PULLED NO PUNCHES IN THE INTERVIEW AND TO HIS CREDIT, ALEX DIDN’T FLINCH FROM ANY OF THE ANSWERS.
We pulled no punches in the interview and to his credit, Alex didn’t flinch from any of the answers. Perennial questions such as the relocation of the show to mainland Europe are being taken seriously by the Clarion team and Alex has promised to deliver confirmation by the end of the summer. We asked if the show is turning into an igaming and sports betting focused event, if Brexit is the massive hurdle everyone expected - and why the Kate Chambers hokey-cokey?
Speaking of which, in another exclusive for our online channel, make sure to check out our Pulse Podcast interview with Kate, who explains the changes from her perspective and updates as to her ongoing role with Clarion and describes the creation of her own business, Fulwood Media. Kate’s well known for her frank views and no-nonsense attitude and speaking to her after a rollercoaster 18 months for the gaming industry, and her personally, was a privilege - and good fun.
Normal service resumes in the September issue as we hope to start travelling the show circuit and meeting friends and colleagues again after so long.
