BAM Clothing launches Any Weather Mac removing obstacles to recyclability
Sustainable activewear innovation has taken a major step forward with the launch of BAM Clothing’s Any Weather Mac, a certified-recyclable, PFAS-free waterproof jacket designed to disrupt traditional outerwear.
Most standard waterproof
jackets bond incompatible materials together using petrochemical glues, rendering them almost impossible to recycle. The Any Weather Mac, featuring proprietary Aquaveil technology that creates a bond as strong as the fabric itself, has been developed to solve several outerwear recycling bottlenecks. At 95% recycled polyester,
the jacket is constructed almost entirely from a single material family, including the seams and trims. By replacing chemical glues with ultrasonic heat- sealing and a certified recycla-
odour control, and moisture management. “Manufacturers are
increasingly looking for material solutions that solve multiple performance chal- lenges without adding manufacturing complexity,” said Parminder Agarwal, Chief Technology Officer at Amer- ichem. “NPure and nZorb demonstrate how masterbatch formulation, polymer compat- ibility, and fibre processing, work together to deliver application-specific functional- ity within the polymer matrix.” NPure transforms odour
control from a temporary surface treatment into an engineered material property. The PFAS-free, fragrance-free,
welt pockets keep phones and other personal items dry, and an adjustable waist tie and cuff tabs enable fine-tuning the fit. The jacket has been independently certified recyclable by the Circular Textiles Foundation, and to close the loop, BAM Clothing has partnered with UK charity- owned textiles collector SATCoL, via a free take-back scheme. non-biocidal technology captures and reduces malo- dours without relying on topical finishes or antimicrobial chemistries, helping manufac- turers improve freshness and consumer comfort. Designed for scalable commercial manufacturing, nPure supports hygiene, medical, fibres, nonwovens, textiles, automo- tive interiors, packaging, and recycled polymer applications. Meanwhile, nZorb trans-
forms hydrophilic performance from a temporary surface effect into a PFAS-free, engineered material property. Incorporated within the polymer matrix, the technology improves wetting, wicking, absorbency, strike- through, rewet, and liquid
score. The fabric utilises Teflon EcoElite, a bio-based, PFAS-free durable water repellent. Intelligent design details do the rest of the work, says BAM Clothing: storm flaps channel rain away while hiding inner mesh vents, deep waterproof
transport, while maintaining processing efficiency and end-product performance. •

Showcase plant for
DePoly tech Swiss PET recycling startup DePoly has officially inaugu- rated its first Showcase Plant in Monthey. Billed as the first depolymerisation facility of its kind and scale in Switzerland, the plant represents a major milestone in the company’s growth. DePoly’s technology breaks
PET down into its original chemical components, enabling
launch promotion for the Any Weather Mac: “We’ve spent years finding ways to make activewear with a lighter footprint – from using nature- based and recycled fabrics for over 90% of what we make, to our certified recyclable 73 Zero range. So a genuinely recyclable waterproof felt less like an option and more like unfinished business.” •

it to recreate virgin-quality raw materials with no loss of performance. To house this first industrial
unit, DePoly chose Monthey’s Industrial Park, which brings together cutting-edge infra- structure, chemical expertise and proximity to its Valais headquarters. In this context, the company said it was able to accelerate its deployment while drawing on a well-established industrial ecosystem. The Showcase Plant has a nominal capacity of around 500 tonnes/yr feedstock input. Beyond production, it will serve to optimize the process, qualify raw materials with industrial customers, and prepare for the deployment of DePoly’s first ➜
