The addition of Textiles Manufacturing Expo means the complete textile value chain will come together in Charlotte, NC

New US show joins recycling expo in 2027

The second Textiles Recycling Expo USA is taking place in April 2027, following on from the success of the first iteration earlier this year. The recycling event will be joined by the brand-new Textiles Manufacturing Expo, creating a unique two-event platform at the Charlotte Convention Center, North Carolina on 7-8 April 2027. AMI, the event organiser and publisher of

TextilesLoop, said that for exhibitors, this means more ways to connect, more professionals to meet, and access to the complete textile value chain in one place. Textiles Recycling Expo USA is the sister event to Textiles Recycling Expo Europe, which took place in Brussels in June this year.

Brand appeal The inaugural Textiles Recycling Expo USA in April 2026 welcomed 1,858 visitors, 95 exhibitors and 52 expert speakers, including manufacturers, technology providers, material suppliers, brands, recyclers and other industry specialists. Attendees included sustainability specialists from leading organi- zations such as Target, Walmart, Marc Jacobs, Sol de Janeiro, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Tesla, Belk, Macy’s, Kontoor Brands, New Balance, Amazon, and On Running.

Amya Hargrove, Sustainability Manager

at Palmetto Goodwill, said after the 2026 event: “Being surrounded by so many passionate people working toward a more sustainable future was incredibly inspiring. From conversations about textile recovery and circular systems to seeing the innova- tion happening across the industry, I left feeling energized and hopeful about where this space is headed.” One exhibitor that experienced immediate commercial success at the 2026 event was MacroCycle Technologies, who commented: “Just by having a booth, we’ve been able to meet so many brands that we were not expecting to meet [...] out of this

expo alone, we may have over $100,000 worth of initial projects already in the pipeline.” As investment, legislation and innova- tion continue to drive the industry forward, Textiles Recycling Expo USA has quickly established itself as the meeting place for organisations looking to be part of the future of textile recycling. In addition to the numerous exhibitors, there are other attractions for visitors, such as the free conference taking place on the show floor. The popular panel discussions will be

back, including one featuring Renee Hackenmiller-Paradis, Senior Director, Sustainable Product & Packaging at Lululemon, Amelia Eleiter, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Debrand, and Terri Riedle, Head of Partnerships, North America, at Samsara Eco. Industry leaders speaking at the conference also include representatives from Eileen Fisher, Kaltex, Goodwill Industries, WM, Target, Unifi, Reju and Ellen MacArthur Foundation. A special feature will showcase the

Textile Innovation Engine, serving as the key connector uniting NC State University, Material Return, Manufacturing Solutions Center (MSC), the Gaston Fiber Innovation Center, and Goodwill Industries of North- west North Carolina. By bringing these partners together, the Engine catalyzes shared strategies, aligns innovation efforts, and accelerates the development of scalable textile circularity solutions rooted in North Carolina.
