The free conference theatres were a big draw at the previous Expo

The Plastics Recycling World Expo will have a dedicated conference theatre hosting a series of technology presentations, industry debates and market insights. It is free to attend and will provide an ideal opportunity to catch up on industry developments and news. Valuable analysis of key trends in Europe’s plastics recycling

market will be provided in the opening keynote address by Silke Einschuetz, who is a recycling and sustainability consultant at AMI. On the second day, Ebbo Botwe, president of the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association will discuss the opportunities and challenges for the sustainable management of plastics in his country. Across the two days of the conference, there will be industry

debates on three hot topics: creating a culture for increased recycling rates; the future of plastic packaging recycling; and the implications of current and future regulations. These will be chaired by Plastics Recycling World’s editor David Eldridge and will feature leading industry experts from Alpla, Better Future Factory, Covestro, Ecowise Waste Management, EuPC, EXPRA, KPMG, Montello, Plastics For Change, Sogapol and Steptoe & Johnson, The technical talks at the Plastics Recycling World Expo will cover

a range of topics including: innovative recycling technologies; additives for improving the properties of recyclates; closed-loop case studies; waste preparation; and creating a circular economy. In addition, Edward Kosier, managing director of Nextek, will give a workshop exploring the competing and complementary nature of chemical and mechanical recycling. Plastics recyclers will also find plenty of interest in the other

conference theatres focused on compounding, polymer testing and extrusion. For example, the Polymer Testing World Expo will host three talks on analysing recycled plastic, while the Plastics Extrusion World Expo has presentations on the circular economy and the design of pilot-scale recycling plants. In addition, the Compounding World Expo will have two talks on upcycling reclaimed plastics using twin-screw extruders, plus three on additives for adding value to recycled materials.
