Republic Services and Ravago join forces

Environmental services provider Republic Services and plastics recycler Ravago have jointly created a new recycling company called Blue Polymers in the US. Four Blue Polymers facilities are planned to come onstream over the next four years, beginning in late 2024, which combined are expected to produce 300m pounds of recycled plastics per year. Products will include custom-blended

and compounded materials to help customers achieve sustainability goals and comply with regulation. The new facilities will utilise rPE and rPP from Republic Services’ Polymer Centres to create fully formulated products for use in both food-grade and non-food-grade applications. Jim Duffy, President and

CEO of Ravago Holdings America, said: “Partnering with Republic Services in the

creation of Blue Polymers to provide transparency in the post-consumer recycling process is transformative. With Republic’s national collection and recycling centre network and state-of- the-art Polymer Centres, we will be able to provide consistent volumes of the highest-quality post-con- sumer recycled resins to the market.” www.republicservices.com www.ravago.com
