identify different polymer types and materials, including mono and multilayer materials and diverse types of polyolefins, Sesotec says. Husky Technologies has developed a circular Recycled Melt to Preform (RMTP) technology that integrates its high performance HyPET injection moulding system with a melt decontamination unit to facilitate direct, closed- loop conversion of washed PET flake to a high quality rPET preform. The RMTP system achieves this by eliminating the drying and melting steps associated with rPET pellet production thereby facilitating the effective production of packaging made from 100% rPET material, further supporting the circularity of PET. The technology enables producers to achieve 30% energy savings which helps to further lower production costs. Robert Domodossola, Husky’s President of Rigid
Packaging, says the system further strengthens the company’s commitment to sustainable PET packag- ing that is produced with an increasingly lower carbon footprint. Husky says one system with the new technology is running in the field, with a second and third system soon to be installed.
Preform production The RMTP technology is offered as a module for Husky’s high performance HyPET HPP5e injection moulding system and is designed to support the closed-loop conversion of washed flake to preform by accepting food approved grade melt from an upstream supplier. The RMTP system is also equipped with Husky’s

Advantage+Elite real-time, proactive, predictive, and transparent monitoring solution as a standard feature. It reduces the variability risk associated with running higher levels of post-consumer resin, thereby accelerating the shift to manufacture more circular, sustainable packaging with greater stability and assurance, Husky says. The Advantage+Elite system remotely monitors every action and aspect of the Husky system in operation in real-time, including the machine, hot runner, mould, and auxiliaries, applying data algorithms and analytics that proactively identify system performance problems and determines the root cause. Clients are contacted by Husky’s Data Monitor-
ing Center when there is an alert. Advanced troubleshooting tools combined with Husky’s extensive knowledge management identifies and predicts system performance problems and offers guided step-by-step correction. Advantage+Elite also verifies whether the solution implemented brings the system variables back into specification. China-based Zhejiang BoReTech Environmental Engineering launched a new PET bottle recycling system this year. The machine has been designed with a compact footprint that reduces the space requirement by 40% while maintaining operational efficiency. The system was designed with high
