New EPR compliance software
GreenDot and Osapiens have entered into a strategic partnership to bring to market an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) packaging compliance software solution. Laurent Auguste, CEO,
GreenDot, said: “Making the circular economy a reality at scale requires greater tracking of material and transparency, but equally it requires striving to make each step of the value chain more competitive.” The solution uses
AI-assisted workflows and supplier collaboration tools to collect, verify, and maintain packaging data, connect directly to national registration systems and EPR schemes, replace slow manual processes, automatically calculate obligations in each European country, and identify the optimal tariff structure across European markets.

Milestones achieved in Rewind project
Two years into the European Rewind project, more than 20 m² of recovered wind turbine blade sections are being given a second life in applications such as electric vehicles and insulation materials. Providing an update, project co-ordinator Aimplas reported on technical milestones. The consortium says it has
validated a model capable of predicting the mechanical behaviour of recovered materials from damaged end-of-life wind turbine blade components with more than 90% accuracy. The results come at a pivotal moment for the European wind turbine sector since 1 January 2026, a voluntary ban promoted
by WindEurope on sending these structures to landfill has been in force. The Rewind project brings together research and technology centres, universities, industrial companies, and sector associations to develop practical solutions across the full value chain of end-of-life wind turbine blades.
Among the project
partners, Suez has devel- oped and validated safe and efficient dismantling technologies while also implementing advanced non-destructive material identification methods that support the classification, reuse, and recycling of composite materials.

Project STOP reports success
To date, Project STOP, launched in 2017 by Borealis (now Borouge International) and Systemiq, has provided access to formal waste collection for
over 500,000 people in Banyuwangi, Indonesia, and more than 850,000 people across all locations. “This milestone reflects a real shift in how waste is
managed,” said Maurin Rizkianita Arjana, Behavior Change and Communica- tion Officer.

Volvo doubles down on recycled content
Volvo Trucks is increasing use of recycled and renewable materials in its all-new Volvo VNL and VNR heavy-duty trucks, reflecting the company’s sustained efforts to reduce environ- mental impact linked to truck manufacturing. Since May 2026 a splash shield, located inside the front wheel well (pictured right), has been manufactured using 75% recycled plastic with additional recycled content used throughout the cab, including the carpets which now contain up to 50% recycled material and seatback compo- nents which contain up to 75% recycled fibres.
