Wittmann encouraged by upturn in orders

Austrian injection moulding machinery and ancillaries producer Wittmann Group says orders have substan- tially increased from the second half of 2020 onwards and reached a record level in February 2021. Increases have been registered in all markets and sectors. CEO Michael Wittmann said: “Based on the current order backlog and continu- ing very positive order situation, we are looking forward to a two-digit increase in sales for 2021. From today’s point of view, we expect to reach the figure of 2019 once more and maybe even exceed it.” The company noted the availability of parts is a challenge, due to a global upturn in industrial produc- tion.

JL Goor opens Fanuc centre in Ireland

JL Goor, which supplies Fanuc machinery to the Irish market, notably the all-electric Fanuc Roboshot, has installed a new customisation centre in Mullingar. The company said that this will enable it to customise machines for the specific needs of the production facility they are to be installed in. As a result, some Goor employees can be relocated from sub-contractor

premises to the main facility. “We’d previously sub-contracted this type of work, but found that this added an extra stage and we saw an opportunity to streamline the whole process,” said Paul Bryan, General Manager of Sales and Marketing. After getting an order Goor takes a Fanuc a stock machine, which tends to be available in just a few weeks, and then passes it through the customi- sation centre, which cuts the overall lead time for a bespoke injection moulding machine. Fanuc Roboshot injection moulding machines are designed to be customised, he said. www.jlgoor.iewww.fanuc.eu
