NEWS Hasco hits a hundred


At a press conference to mark its 100th anniversary on 24 January 2024, Hasco, the German mould compo- nent manufacturer and supplier of customised hot runner systems, declared 2024 “the year of orange” and revealed ambitious plans to participate in 20 trade shows, organise 30 events, and implement an extensive social media- based marketing campaign. Hasco began life in 1924 when founder Hugo Hasenclever built moulds for processing the then-new material Bakelit in a work- shop in Lüdenscheid. His son Rolf was later credited with inventing the modular system for standard mould units, and products such as the shut-off coupling and the latch locking device are also among the company’s patented creations. “With 100 ideas in the


past and 100 ideas for the future, we will continue along the chosen path. Our aim is, as a pioneer for mouldmaking, to also set innovative milestones for the industry in the next 100 years,” said CEO Christoph Ehrlich.

New Oerlikon HRSflow plant in Italy


Hot runner manufacturer Oerlikon HRSflow is con- structing a fully-automated plant in San Polo di Piave, Italy. The facility will increase the company’s Italian output by 30% to meet growing


demand in packaging, consumer goods, and automotive sectors. Oerlikon HRSflow CEO, Antonio Bortuzzo, said: “Our expansion in Italy enables us to stay close to our Euro-

Management changes at KraussMaffei
