One of the many challenges is creating a high enough quality post-consumer recycled (PCR) compound that can produce a good film, without gels that cause web breaks or other functional or appear- ance issues. Additives, such as stabilisers and compatibilisers, are critical to producing high-qual- ity PCR. Nexam Chemical’s Reactive Recycling viscosity- modifying additives repair degraded polymer molecules to allow the use of a higher amount of recycled content or use of lower quality feedstock without processing and production. For film applications, the additive family includes products for polymers such as polyolefins and PET. The company is seeing strong market interest from the packaging industry, particularly from blown film producers. The company recently reported that a new blown film customer had expanded its use of Reactive Recycling additives in 2025, and that Nexam’s development pipeline in blown film has grown to over 20 companies ranging from those in early-stage testing to industrialisation. Customers have seen positive results, according
