Polyblend converts line to include recyclate
Polyblend, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Total Energies, has announced the Final Investment Decision for the conversion of an existing polyolefins compounding line at its site in Bad Sobern- heim, Germany. The €4m project will
expand the production of compounds incorporating mechanically recycled materials in anticipation of forthcoming European circularity requirements in the automotive sector such as the proposed End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation which is expected to introduce mandatory recycled-content targets for new vehicles. The converted line is expected to start operations at the end of 2027 with a capacity to produce up to 15,000 tonnes/yr. “This investment is a tangible demonstration of
our ambition to accelerate the development of circular polymers and expand our portfolio of recycled solutions,” said Michel Cassart, Polyblend Site Director. “By leveraging existing industrial infrastruc- ture, we can optimise resources used while maximising the efficiency of our investments and position Polyblend as a key
partner in the circular economy.”
PP compounds produced
by Polyblend are used in a wide range of automotive applications, including engine parts (air condition- ing, air filters), interior components (door panels, consoles, dashboards, trim) and exterior components (bumpers, autobody parts).

Renolit says new mixing plant is imminent
PVC group Renolit has said that construction work on a new €56m mixing plant at its headquarters in Worms, Germany, is progressing according to plan. The improvements aim to
increase cost-effectiveness through a higher degree of automation which allows critical parameters such as speed, time, temperature and sequence, to be monitored and repeated. A properly developed control strategy can reduce opera- tor variability while provid-

ing the flexibility needed to accommodate multiple formulations.
“With this investment, we
