Teknor Apex forms PolyTek JV in India

Teknor Apex subsidiary Teknor Apex BV has entered into a joint venture (JV) with Indian specialty polymer manufacturer Shriram Polytech which will operate under the brand name PolyTek. The partnership repre- sents a significant milestone in what Teknor Apex says is its strategy to strengthen and grow its portfolio of polymer compounds and develop partnerships in what it considers high- growth sectors. By combin- ing the respective strengths of both companies, the JV aims to deliver high-perfor- mance, technically ad- vanced polymer solutions for use in many diverse industrial applications. “Our collaboration combines Shriram Polytech’s presence in vinyl materials with Teknor Apex’s formulat- ing expertise to deliver high-performance solutions

PVC compounds are among the products of JV partner Shriram

for one of Asia’s largest industrial ecosystems,” said Donald Wiseman, CEO of Teknor Apex. India’s emergence as one

of the world’s fastest-grow- ing manufacturing hubs presents a compelling opportunity for innovation- led growth in advanced polymer compounds. Through PolyTek, the partnership will leverage India’s strategic position to enhance supply chain resilience, improve access

to cutting-edge material technologies, and elevate product performance standards across industries. Teknor Apex says that by

integrating global innova- tion with local execution capabilities, the partnership is well positioned to accelerate growth, deepen customer engagement, and expand its footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. www.teknorapex.com www.dcmshriram.com

BASF expands agri film stabiliser production

BASF said it is expanding its production capacities for both stand- ard and NOR HALS light stabilisers used in agricultural films. NOR HALS technology provides resistance to high UV exposure,

elevated temperatures, sulphur-based products that create acidic microclimates, and increasingly harsh pesticides. It said that as “climate conditions become more extreme and sustainability expectations increase, growers – particularly in China, the world’s largest plasticulture market – are seeking film materials that deliver durability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility”. BASF said the NOR HALS platform provides long shelf life even under intense sunlight and acidic conditions, reduces plastic accumulation in soil through easier recollection and fewer film breakages, and boosts farmer productivity by minimizing the need for frequent film replacement. www.basf.com
