Americhem targets growth as PPC buys majority stake


Investment firm PPC has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Americhem, the family-owned manufacturer of custom colour masterbatch, performance additives, and engineered compound solutions. The investment will provide Amer- ichem with additional financial resources and expertise to accelerate growth, innovation, and expansion across its end markets. Founded in 1941 and headquar-


tered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, US, Americhem produces colour master-


batch and custom compounds for a variety of markets including health- care, transportation and construction. The company, which operates 10 manufacturing plants with approxi- mately 1,000 employees located throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, says it is uniquely positioned to benefit from tailwinds across large and attractive end markets. “PPC’s investment is a powerful

Avient announces higher sales in 2024, starts recompounding in Turkey


In its full year 2024 results, US-headquartered Avient announced sales of $3.24bn, up from $3.14bn in 2023. “We grew organic sales in


each of the regions with both our Color, Additives and Inks and Specialty Engineered Materials segments growing at 3% and 6%, respectively, while expanding adjusted EBITDA margins 90 and 110 basis points, respectively, over 2023,” said Dr Ashish Khandpur, President and Chief Executive Officer, Avient Corporation. “Our goal was to gener-


ate organic sales growth with margin expansion, and we delivered both in 2024. By continuing to focus on our customers, our team achieved these results against a choppy macro environment,” he said.
