(ADAS) use millimetre wave radar sensors to determine the distance, speed, and angle of objects such as approaching cars by sending and receiving radio waves. Polyplastics says that a range of electromagnetic wave absorbing materi- als have previously been partially incorporated on the PBT radomes through which the electromag- netic waves are transmitted. However, it says Duranex PBT 201EB has the same PBT resin base and bonds well in two-shot moulding capabilities. Sensor housing components require specific


attributes, including good mechanical stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance and dimensional stability alongside EMI/RF shielding properties. Turkish compounder Eurotec says it provides materials especially formulated for sensor compo- nents, such as its Tecomid NB30 GR20 BK EF (an electrically conductive black grade of PA6 rein-

For industrial static management applications such as conveyor parts, flame retardancy is also frequently considered a critical requirement. The company says its Tecolen CP30 BK EU71 (a flame retardant and electrically conductive black PP copolymer compound) offers UL94 V-1 flame retardancy and volume resistivity of less than 103 Adeka’s AS-307 permanent antistatic agent
