Baerlocher reorganises structure
As part of a company restructuring, Baerlocher’s operational business has been transferred to an independent entity and will now operate in Lingen as Baerlocher Germany where it will be responsible for the wider business in Europe. The main objective of this move is to clearly separate the operational business in Germany and Europe from the central holding functions. “With this new structure,
we are making our organisation clearer, more transparent, and more efficient,” said Arne Schulle, CEO of the Baerlocher Group. “This allows us to establish explicit responsibilities, streamline decision-mak- ing processes, and focus more closely on our customers’ needs.” The newly-formed
operational company in Germany is responsible for the PVC stabilisers and specialty additives business units.

Coperion makes market advances
Dongguan Baier has acquired three ZSK Mc18 compounders from Coperi- on. With the new twin-screw extruders, the Chinese company is expanding its production capacity for high-performance engi- neering plastics such as PA6/PA66, PEEK, PEI, PAI, PPS, PPO, PPA, PA9T, PA10T, LCP, and PA46, which are primarily used in the automotive industry, the electrical and electronics sector, and mechanical engineering.
Extruders used for
processing high-perfor- mance plastics must be significantly more powerful than those designed for standard plastics and
must withstand much higher process temperatures. Coperion has designed the process sections of the extruders both mechanically and electrically for melt temperatures of up to 450°C and they are equipped with powerful heating cartridges and effective thermal insulation to regulate temperatures. The high specific torque
of the ZSK extruders, combined with the specially designed twin screws, ensures a short residence time of the melt in the process section at a very high filling degree. The result is very high through- put rates and outstanding product quality, while additional intelligent features ensure quick recipe
changes, said Coperion. n Coperion has received a Letter of No Objection from the US FDA confirming that the combination of the company’s twin screw extruders and EcoFresh silo degassing used in the manufacture of recycled HDPE and recycled PP fulfils the requirements for direct contact with food. “The FDA’s LNO means
that rHDPE and rPP manu- factured with our technolo- gies can be used for new food packaging in propor- tions up to 100%,” said Stefan Lachenmayer, Global Commercial Director Recycling at Coperion. “As a result, we provide recyclers the assurance that our energy-efficient mechanical recycling process manufac- tures high-quality recyclate for use cases A-H. These include, for example, packaging for
