ESSMI Day 2025 AUSTRIA
ESSMI, the European Society for the Specialty Mushrooms’ Industry, has only existed since two years ago but the annual general meeting has already become “the place to be” for every grower who takes their profession seriously. It is the platform to hear all there is to know about the latest developments in the sector and a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from all over Europe. The meeting was held on 7-8 October at the Pandorf Hotel in Vienna, Austria, a spacious venue located reasonably close to two interesting companies. Biopilzzucht Reiser, David Reiser’s substrate company is an hour’s drive to the southeast, while Bio Edelpilze Marchfelder is about the same distance to the northeast.
At Bio Edelpilze Marchfelder.
Krolopp (general manager) and Kasper Moreaux (director) presented the evening programme. The unavoidable official matters were preceded by a comparison by Kasper of Chinese and Japanese cultivation equipment and an overview of the sales figures of specialty mushrooms in Europe given by Jorge Calvo of Sylvan.
