11 innovations not to be missed at SPACE 2022

Those in the dairy sector will once again get the chance to experience a trip to Rennes, France where SPACE 2022 will take place in mid-September. Many innovations will be showcased, here are some not to be missed!

BY ZANA VAN DIJK, EDITOR DAIRY GLOBAL 1 2 3 20

Individualised Reasoned Technique sheet Ceva Sante Animale: Tri Automated Process (2-star winner)

The automated TRI (Individualised Reasoned Technique) sheet makes it possible to generate, from dairy performance data, the list of dairy cows that have priority for deworming at the start of the barn, a classic period to manage parasitism for these animals. It is intended for the veterinarian-breeder tandem and serves as a basis for the implementation of selective deworming. (Hall 1, Stand D36)

AI-based herd monitoring solution AIHERD: AIHERD (1-star winner) AIHERD monitors the herd and alerts farmers about

specific events. A set of cameras enables the identification and monitoring of animals 24/7, while an AI analyses all the infor- mation (identity, posture, behaviour, time budget, etc.) in real time to identify major events and alert the farmer. The farmer receives the in- formation quickly, with the possibility of controlling it via vid- eo extracts and thus keeping control of the decision-making process. (Hall 11, Stand B43)

New generation ear tag Allflex De MSD Sante Animale: Ear Tag Flex V2 (1-star winner) An advanced monitoring ear tag for beef and dairy

cattle, Flex V2 collects and monitors critical data to deliver timely reproduction, health and nutrition insights. It is lightweight at 25g and preserves cow comfort. The new multi function LED indicator enables anyone to quickly and

easily find specific animals needing dif- ferent types of attention. LED activa- tion can be predefined either per animal or by report (health and/or heat). There is an extended battery life of up to five years. Tags can be removed from one animal and at- tached to another. (Hall 1, Stand E47)

Combination of methionine and lysine Bewital Agri GMBH & Co. Kg: Bewi-Fatrix lM 101 (1-star

winner) The BEWI-FATRIX LM 101 is a fur- ther developed product that easily adds both amino acids in a rumen-protected shape. This not only enables the supply of both amino acids but also ensures optimal amino acid supply with reduced protein carrier use. Feeding both amino acids in optimal doses in a rumen-protected shape means they won’t be degraded in the rumen to allow metabolic use. This means that nitrogen efficiency and milk yield can be improved. (Hall 9, Stand A18)

New options on mixer buckets Desvoys: Wear Plate & Magnet (1-star winner) Desvoys presents two new improvements on its feed buckets. The first aims to

strengthen the bucket bottom by bolting on a Hardox plate made from abrasion-resistant steel. This addresses abrasion due to fodder friction. It’s no longer necessary to change the bucket or to call after-sales service. The user can order parts and simply replace the sheet by taking off the bolts. The second innovation is based on the flighted screw. Two or four magnets, according to the model, are mounted on the flighted screw extremity to attract unwanted metallic elements in the feed. (Open air, Stand C25)
