So sad the trauma to those kids at the time! Hope they were able to have good lives! He needs to stay [in prison]. Facebook/Charlotte Park

Keep him in there … had no right to get out after what he did to those kids! Facebook/Ralph Knight

Wages, wages, wages! Pay them what they are worth. $30 an hour to start is still not enough for what they do for the kids! Mentor, counselor, bodyguard, teacher, etc. Bus drivers wear many hats. Facebook/Chet White

Letter to the Editor

In response to the March issue of School Transportation News article, “Wheel of Benefits” one reader provided the following feedback. The reader’s name was omitted due to sensitivity of the information shared. Read the article at stnonline.com/go/mar22.

Regarding the use of ESSER funding being used for bonuses for contract employees, the district in which I am a substitute driver did just that, even for administrative staff who had little or no contact with students. Substitutes however, whether drivers, teachers or food service workers, received nothing, even if they worked near 100 percent of the time covering for contract workers who were ill or quarantined. If these substitutes had chosen not to work, fearing exposure, the school system would have had to close down. Fairness and consideration were ignored. But yet I still drive because I love the kids but strongly dislike management and no longer recommend the job to others because of the lack of loyalty to employees though loyalty is asked of employees.
