THE COMPETITION’S STOP ARMS


REFLECTIVE OUTDATED AND INEFFECTIVE


Illumination: Incandescent or LED lamps that strobe or flash.


Visibility: 30+ year old reflective decal that requires high-beam headlights from oncoming vehicles to be recognized as a stop sign; visibility drops significantly in low- light, bad weather, and with low-beam headlights.


Efficacy: Impactful with reducing stop arm violations upon introduction decades ago. With stop arm violations increasing year-over-year, this technology is outdated and no longer effective.


Approval: Long-standing minimum requirement. States are beginning to require more than just reflectivity.


PARTIALLY “ILLUMINATED” A LITTLE BETTER, BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH
