TFO’s 2021 social justice speaker was Michael Landsberg, an ambassador for Bell Let’s Talk, an initiative rais-


ing awareness about mental health, and the founder of #SickNotWeak, a charity that re- frames mental illness as a health issue, rather than a character flaw. The foundation serves as both a resource and community for peo- ple living with mental illness and those who wish to support their loved ones. Landsberg’s video message was made available to Annual Meeting delegates. “The perception of mental


illness as weakness is the basis of people keep- ing their mental health issues to themselves and why many of us are afraid to talk about our mental health challenges,” he says in this video. He asks us to change that perception, to recognize illness but not perceive it as weakness. That will help us not only take bet- ter care of ourselves but others as well.
