ow that you can get pretty much anything delivered (including cocktails—thank you, Cocktail Courier!), there’s no excuse for ordering cheap pizza whenever you can’t face cooking. Take advantage of delivery options like GrubHub, DoorDash, Caviar and Postmates, which will bring ramen, waffles, cheese plates and more from some of Chicago’s top restaurants to your living room in no time.

Balena

When not even Balena’s cozy upstairs dining room can lure you out, order in some of the Italian restaurant’s greatest hits, like orecchiette tossed with kale, lemon and bread crumbs, or pizza, like a fennel-, sausage- and onion-topped pie that puts most delivery pizza to shame. For dessert, add a pint of nutty house- made pistachio gelato to your order. 1633 N Halsted St (312-867- 3888, balenachicago.com). Via Caviar, DoorDash and GrubHub.

Shaw’s Crab House

For splurge nights, seafood spot Shaw’s delivers steamed lobsters or oysters on the half shell. But the menu also includes options more appropriate for when you’re just bingeing on Netflix—crab cakes have little filler, sashimi is pristine and griddled shrimp are garlicky and plump. 21 E Hubbard St (312- 527-2722, shawscrabhouse.com). Via GrubHub and Postmates.

The Winchester

This Ukrainian Village café delivers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and yes, the signature sweet Liège waffle is available all day long.

filled with squash and topped with sweet and creamy corn broth, from this Southern and Tex-Mex diner. New England lobster roll, Shaw’s Crab House

Nothing beats a steaming bowl of soup when it’s windy and cold outside, and Yusho’s mushroom ramen is warming and earthy, while the pork miso ramen, with a gooey 60-minute egg, brings some heat. Don’t limit yourself to ramen—house-made pickles are crisp and tangy, and the twice-fried chicken is juicy and crisp. 2853 N Kedzie Ave (773-904-8558, yusho-chicago.com). Via GrubHub.
