sarahlwilliamson95@gmail.com www.oqha.on.cainfo@oqha.on.ca Affiliate NLQHA hosts the first AQHA circuit since COVID lockdown!! The NLQHA affiliate, OQHA Area

7 show was held at the Dryden Ontario Fairgrounds, Canada Day weekend June 30- July 1st and 2nd with the single show on the Friday and Sat/Sunday split combined shows. Judged by Kathy An- derson on Friday and Jocelyn D`En- tremont and Clint Fullerton on Sat/Sunday. What a fantastic weekend it was

beautiful organized by show manager Danika Lynn Morton of Dryden Ontario, Eryn Butterfield doing show secretary duties with incredible support from vol- unteers, Destiny Prizner, Shelbi Arti- mowich, Molly Gallant, Johanne and Dale Fenwick, Greg Obie, Karla D Bjorkman, Kirsten Fenwick and Doug Schollie. Saturday’s rain forecast was even

restrained and the outdoor Saturday Show was able to complete a full slate of classes with exhibitors from Ontario,

Manitoba and the USA participating. The entire show was a return to the

old fashioned community involved showing with on-grounds Pot Luck sup- per Friday night!! And the Dryden Ag Societies delicious turkey dinner Satur- day night in the fairgrounds community hall.

The Saturday night silent and live

auction was really fun and had some wonderful stuff on offer. Everyone en- joyed this and a lot of money was raised to keep the shows affordable. Mz Des- tiny Prizner was the MC for the event while Jessie (Vanna White) Godin demonstrated items to the crowd. The wonderful meal and silent

fundraiser auction was followed by the absolutely hilarious QUARTER- LIMPICS Game Night.. This event was organized by Johanne Martin Fenwick. Everyone turned out to participate or cheer on favorite teams. The winning

team, saucily named “NO BUCKS GIVEN” pulled ahead with a stunning performance in the team board walking, storming into the lead also on the bouncy ball weaving as well. 2nd place team “GET BUCKED”

challenged all the way with “The BIG MACS” charging hard to claim 3rd. The rest of the field put in sterling

performances, and we congratulate “THE MANE ATTRACTION”, THE GOLDEN GIRLS, PICKIN DAISIES, and THE GERIATRIC BAD BITCHES were all very game and provided a lot of fun.

Between all the great food and BIG

Fun, there was a very competitive horse show. Entries in general were lower than the Pre-COVID shows but the quality of competition was not. There were a lot of very tight classes, very well presented on some very nice horses. This is the kind of shows that are the grass roots

that made the Quarter Horse breed the most popular breed in Canada today. The Show was competitive, skill

sharpening, accessible and affordable. A family event of the best kind and a re- union for many old campaigners. Every- one brought their A game and everyone left pumped and anticipating the next OQHA Area 7 circuit show in EMO, Ont. August 4th to the 7th/23. It will be a 4 show circuit, hosted by the Border- land Quarter Horse Association. See info for this show on the FB page. Both runs are qualifiers for the

OAQHA Championship invitational show in Ancaster, Ontario. Thanks to Tracy Agar-Beck for collecting and recording score sheets for eligible Ama- teur classes. The North of Superior QH Assoc

also records results and will host a year end banquet and High Point Awards presentation after show season this fall!

Area 7 of OQHA invites everyone

to come up and show with us in stunning scenic NW Ontario. We will show you a great time and some excellent competi- tive horse showing! Check out the Borderland QH As-

sociation FB page for the next Area Seven Circuit show in Emo, Ontario.
