Announcing The CRHRA Loyalty Membership 2024
Under CRHRA Memberships
www.crhra.ca
Through the Trail Commu-
nity Platform we have created the CRHRA Loyalty Member- ship for 2024. The struggle to se- cure a new insurance provider has certainly been a learning ex- perience. It seems we are too small for what it costs them. So to increase our membership numbers which is one of the ways they evaluate us. We are asking for your help to show we are growing even if we were not able to provide our members with reasonably priced insurance at this time. Note: We are still ac- tively seeking an insurance provider, hoping that in fulfilling the requirements they look at we will find a willing partner. This year, through the Loy-
alty Membership program, we are giving out sponsorship money to those that qualify. On our website is the cri- teria and what is available -
www.crhra.ca Loyalty Membership Appli-
cations: There is one for specifi- cally for members and one for Associations and Businesses as in Stables, Farriers, Veterinari- ans, Hay providers, Trail Riding Groups, etc. Deadline for Applications is March 10, 2024. Payouts will be
March 31, 2024 Written notice will be sent
to those that qualify. The recipients will be
posted on our website under News. Businesses and Associations
that join will have their info posted on our website directory for our members to access. We reserve the right to de-
cline any membership if we feel CRHRA is not suitable for that person, organisation or business. We will be at CAN-AM
again this year. Stop by and say hello to our Public Relations Team, Mark and Alex. They will have some giveaways to share. We will be taking applications for the Loyalty Membership Pro- gram there and, hoofs crossed, will have secured a new insur- ance provider and will be able to take those applications as well. All ways check our website
for updates!!! Also we have a New Face-
book page as the old one was hi- jacked and the information posted on it is incorrect and spec- ulation. The new Facebook name is Canadian Recreational Horse and Rider Association The Board. Remember
that things
posted to any Facebook page are strictly comments and opinions of others and not necessarily
CRHRA’s. Always check with one of our directors for the cor- rect information or our website. Our new membership team
in Napanee has done a fantastic job in working out some of the kinks and keeping up to date with the applications. They are excited about the New Loyalty Memberships offering the same service to those members. When there is an error on an application a text message and or an email is sent to the number or email pro- vided for clarification of the error within 24 hours. Please respond to the messages as soon as possi- ble, especially at the end of the month as it can cause a delay if it was for insurance coverage. Email
memberships@crhra.ca for New Loyalty Memberships as well as other memberships. We are not closing our
doors. We are looking to expand CRHRA, hoping that we can again find a suitable insurance provider for our members and other ways to give back to our members. The Board appreciates the loyalty that everyone has shown us during this troubling problem.
May 2024 be a joyful prosperous year for us all!

KCD Makes Donation to PRHC Breast Cancer “Thank you to everyone who supported “Can-
cer Picked The Cowgirl” swag,” says Kimberley Dawn of Kicking Cowgirl Designs (KCD). “With all your support we were able to raise $7,000.00 that has gone towards PRHC Breast Cancer.” “We’ve got a new design that we will
be launching for 2024. I’m so excited about this design”. ✨ Almost a year since being diagnosed with breast cancer Kimberley says it’s been a year of uncertainty, stress, fear, sadness, heartbreak and the unknown. “Despite no family history and living
a healthy lifestyle, I emphasizes the star- tling statistic that one in eight women will face a breast cancer diagnosis.” Kim- berley urges you to reflect on your loved ones by counting to eight and advocates for regular screenings and self-advocacy. “I can’t say this any louder” she says.
“Get your mammograms and do your self exams. You are never too young!” Kimberley thanks the amazing staff
at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) who made her feel like a person, not just a numbered patient. “Thank you to allllll the amazing nurses
who have made chemo fun”. For more information on KDC visit

2024 Calgary Stampede Poster Revealed - Wîchîspa Skadabi Odâginabi
Calgary – The Calgary Stampede proudly unveiled the 2024 Stam- pede Poster artwork, created by 22-year-old Calgarian Lloyd Templeton. The Poster offers a unique
view of the historic Stampede Pa- rade. Stoney Nakoda Tipi Holder Duane Mark is shown riding in the foreground, while a diverse group of Parade participants and spectators comprise a landscape along the downtown Calgary Pa- rade route. Duane is a Stoney language
and cultural instructor who is pas- sionate about preserving and sharing the Stoney Nakoda lan- guage. He collaborated with the artist on the title of the piece, which is ‘Wîchîspa Skadabi Odâginabi’ and the two formed a friendship. The phrase translates to ‘Celebrating the Calgary Stam- pede’ and the composition cap- tures the community spirit and storied history of the Parade. “The Stampede has always
been a place where First Nations people of Treaty 7 could speak their languages, share their tradi- tions, and have ceremonies,” says Will Osler, President & Chair of the Calgary Stampede Board of Directors. “To have the 2024 Poster so beautifully capture that relationship and the importance of continuing to celebrate lan- guage and culture is incredibly meaningful, and a representation of what the Calgary Stampede stands for.” “My memories of the parade
from when I was a little boy are vivid,” says Lloyd, who is a re- cent Alberta University of the Arts graduate. “I can feel the warmth of the rising sun, the an- ticipation, and how the spectacle of horses filling the city streets
