WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? I first worked as a sales assistant at
Marks & Spencer.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE TILING INDUSTRY?
I graduated with a degree in chemistry which led into a career in product development. This included the product development of concrete mixing and construction chemicals, adhesives and coatings, and then eventually tiling products, which is where I’ve stayed ever since.
WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?
Elon Musk – he is literally pushing the boundaries.
IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT CAR WOULD YOU BUY?
It would have to be a Range Rover Velar.
IF YOU COULD INVENT ONE PRODUCT TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? A form of travel that is not dependent of road, rail, sea or air.
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?
Like most young lads, I always dreamt of being a footballer.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND? I like to take time out to walk the dogs,
listen to music and watch football.
IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY WITH ANY THREE GUESTS, DEAD OR
ALIVE, WHO WOULD THEY BE AND WHY? John Lennon, David Bowie and Bob Marley; which should make for an entertaining gathering.
IF YOU COULD VISIT ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU
GO AND WHY? The South Pacific Islands because some of them might not be around much longer!

"What do you think will be the next big technology advancement when it comes to tile design?”
I think it will be integrating sustainable power sources (solar etc.) to provide decorative lighting effects or even heat within a tiled surface.
