TILING TOOLS & WORKWEAR

It features a 1.6kw motor, is easy to use with simple controls and has an adjustable handle height for operator comfort. An onboard dust collection port ensures clean results when used dry and the fold down handle is ideal for transportation and storage. The machine emits a low noise level so does not disturb normal daily operations.

A drive plate is fixed to the Burnisher 430 which can just be lowered onto a cleaning or scrubbing pad and used with or without chemicals / water. Cost saving and environmentally friendly cleaning is achieved by using the burnisher with The Preparation Group’s double-sided Storm Diamond Pads and just water.

As well as the STG range and the Burnisher 430, Storm Diamond Pads are also designed to fit all scrubber dryers and rotary cleaning machines.

THE PERFECT FINISH

Here, we have put together a handy guide so you can get the exact finish you’re looking for.

Marble, Soft Natural Stone & Terrazzo Tiles Deep Clean: For a soiled, stained or lightly scratched surface, we recommended using 400 grade Surface Finishing Diamond Pads* (SFD) if you are looking to achieve a dull, scratch-free, clean surface. For a sheen finish, however, try the 400 Storm Diamond Pads (SDP) instead.

DO NOT DISTURB

The Preparation Group talks us through a

recent refurbishment project its contracting division completed for a hotel reception, achieving a deep clean as quickly and quietly as possible.

The Preparation Group’s contracting division, PPC, was contracted to refurbish and deep clean 250m² of heavily trafficked and dirty tiles in a hotel reception in Birmingham.

The first stage was to use an STG450 machine fitted with a 400 grade Storm Diamond Pad and water applied, to remove the ingrained dirt and scratches from some of the steel expansion joints. The edges and around columns were completed with a 5’’ Wet Polisher. The final stage was to use the Burnisher 430, dry, working up the Storm Diamond Pad grades from 800, to 1500 and then 3000.

The result was a high-gloss finish that would repel dirt and be easier to clean and maintain.

The sole purpose of The Preparation Group’s Burnisher 430, is to produce a high gloss, glass-like finish on vinyl, tiles, concrete and resin systems. The high-speed operation (1500rpm) glazes as it glides across the surface, producing a long-lasting shine.

Maintenance: When looking to achieve a sheen finish when it comes to the general cleaning of heavily trafficked areas, the 400 grade SDP will your best bet; or you can use the 800 grade for light gloss finish. In standard traffic areas, the 1500 SDP will allow you to create a gloss finish, but using the 3000 SPD will get you a high gloss finish in lightly trafficked areas.

On Granite, Hard Natural Stone & Seamless Terrazzo

Deep Clean: When looking to achieve a dull, scratch-free surface on heavily soiled, stained and scratched floors, go for the 200 SFD . On soiled, lightly stained areas with no scratches, however, using the 400 SFD will get a sheen finish.

Maintenance: When it comes to the general upkeep of granite, natural stone and terrazzo floors, a 400 SDP will accomplish a light gloss finish on a very heavily trafficked , or the 800 SDP will get a strong gloss finish in slightly less trafficked areas. For places with standard footfall, use the 1500 SDP for a high-gloss finish. In lightly trafficked spaces, a mirror finish can be achieved using the 3000 storm pad.

More than one step can be used depending on the finish required.

*SFD’s, Surface Finishing Diamond Pads, are a range of specialist pads with resin diamond dots for floor refurbishment and renewal.
