WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? A trainee manager at a plumbers’ merchants.


HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE TILING INDUSTRY?


I was approached by a business acquaintance that was starting up a tile specification business. He recognised my sales experience and thought I would be the ideal candidate for the role.


WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?


Andy Tatton of office furniture specialist Boss Design. He is organised, calm and composed and appears to have everything under control!


IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT CAR WOULD YOU BUY?

IF YOU COULD INVENT ONE PRODUCT TO MAKE YOUR JOB


EASIER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Solus Ceramics has a strong and established sales team located all across the UK, but it is inevitable that at one time or another I need to provide advice and guidance. Whilst this is possible over the telephone or by email, nothing beats being there in person. I guess it would be useful to have a teleportation machine that I could use whenever I was needed.


WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?

SALES WHAT WOULD IT BE? We will soon be opening a specification showroom in the heart of Clerkenwell, but it would be my ambition to offer the same in Manchester, building the Solus brand in the north of the UK.

Piers Morgan, as he would offer controversial yet interesting debates around the table.


Liam Neeson because he would have some very interesting tales about life in Hollywood, but I’m sure he would also be able to keep the other two in check!


IF YOU COULD VISIT ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU


GO AND WHY? The Maldives. I have been lucky enough to have been twice before and it is truly a paradise on earth that I would visit again without hesitation.
