HOTEL & SPA

NATURAL LUXURY

Jon Stanley, VP of Marketing at Caesarstone UK, explains why quartz is an ideal way of injecting a hotel/spa-esque feel to a home.

Today, homeowners are more comfortable making bold decisions in their domestic bathroom designs thanks to inspiration drawn from the interiors of luxury and boutique hotels and spas. Hotel bathrooms are the new showrooms for many consumers. Bathroom surfaces with bold designs in particular are proving popular for homeowners who wish to create a unique and personal environment in which to unwind and spend more time in.

The proliferation of en-suite bathroom spaces has brought a much higher demand in design creativity as the space needs to work with the adjoining bedroom environment. They continue to be a popular addition to the home, even when space is at a premium, as homeowners enjoy the privacy, convenience and sheer luxury of having an additional bathroom that utilises all available space. Caesarstone offers bold colours, such as Turbine Grey and Rugged Concrete, which fit perfectly within the latest trends.

Marble-inspired quartz surfaces are continuing to prove a very popular way of creating a stylish and sophisticated spa look in the bathroom. The delicate veining and subtle colours of marble-inspired surfaces provide the perfect background on which brassware colours can pop. From high-shine rose golds and stainless steels, to matt graphites which are currently en vogue. Quartz is increasingly being specified for bathroom vanity tops, shower returns, bath surrounds, wall cladding and flooring. In terms of colour and pattern, marble is a

perennial favourite for bathrooms, due to the rich natural veining which creates an elegant and luxurious feel.

If you’re lucky enough to have a large area to work with when designing a new bathroom, consider adding a touch of hotel-chic with a luxurious walk-in shower or bring spa style into a home with your very own steam shower cabin or Bluetooth-enabled illuminated bath complete with massage jets to target aches and pains. When space is limited, look for savvy storage solutions that make use of vertical space and think about combining a mix of materials to add visual interest.

Quartz is virtually non-porous. It’s waterproof and highly resistant to mould and mildew, making it the perfect material for damp areas such as showers, wet rooms and bathrooms. As Caesarstone quartz is usually fitted as larger panels or single pieces, there are few gaps which reduces the chance of water ingress and also makes cleaning much easier, giving the bathroom a more superior feel. Quartz is one of nature’s hardest materials and is more durable than most stone, marble and granite. It is impervious to stains, scratches and cracks and is highly heat and cold resistant. Caesarstone quartz surfaces are designed to offer a practical, hygienic and environmentally- friendly solution for the bathroom’s moist and humid surroundings. Their non-porous nature makes them resistant to water and thus to mould, mildew and bacteria – making them ideal as surfaces in the bathroom.
