RPE AVAILABLE The two most important factors to consider when purchasing RPE is the working environment and the worker’s needs. The standard full and half-face negative pressure respirator masks, especially disposable ones, are commonly only recommended for short-term use of up to an hour. Powered Air respirators offer a much longer resistance against silica dust as well as ensuring less respiratory strain is put upon the user as it powers the air flow into the head top.


When purchasing RPE it’s also vital to factor in employee needs. For instance: those with glasses and beards will require a larger mask that takes into account these types of obstructions. Many masks on the market will require a tight seal against the wearer’s skin. You need to consider protection level, time exposed to RCS and comfort level.
