SATRA MAKES BIG INVESTMENTS IN PPE TESTING FACILITIES
SATRA has continued to develop its PPE division, investing in refurbishments and updates to many areas of its PPE testing facilities. This has allowed for increases in both the quality of testing, the range of testing offered and its efficiency.
Glove testing
SATRA’s new testing laboratory for glove testing has been purpose built to allow for a more dynamic and efficient way of working for its experienced team of technicians, allowing them to carry out customer testing needs more effectively.
Customers can now take advantage of the improved service, including benefits in both quality and efficiency. SATRA offers a range of services for testing gloves, including physical properties, thermal properties, testing to EN 374-2 and EN 455 and many others, including high voltage testing to EN or IEC 60903. We will also soon be adding a DC voltage rig, allowing gloves to be tested for applications such as electric car manufacturing.
Fall arrest facilities
SATRA continues to invest in its PPE business by refurbishing its indoor fall arrest PPE testing facility, as well its outdoor edge testing facilities.
Features such as a user-friendly winch that will allow staff to move weights around more easily and general improvements to the layout allow for a cleaner and more efficient workflow for our technicians. The new space also allows for customers to come and visit the facility with more ease, improving the existing and adding additional safety features such as an increased number of protective screens.
SATRA has also refurbed its outside testing facility to be able to conduct edge testing to the VG sheet and upcoming revision of EN 360, which is becoming more of a concern/requirement throughout the industry.
SATRA offers a range of services for testing fall arrest PPE to BS, EN and ANSI methods and includes various dynamic tests, static testing, edge testing, corrosion testing and many others.
Eyewear lab
Following on from the important role played during the pandemic, SATRA has further invested in its PPE business by creating a brand-new eyewear testing laboratory
The laboratory was set up to test protective eyewear according to EN 166:2001 (protective eyewear) and also ISO 12312-1:2013+A1:2015 (sunglasses). The company has also used it to test protective eyewear according to AS/NZS 1337.1:2010. Many tests from ANSI Z87.1:2020 can also be carried out.
