ENHANCING WASHROOM FACILITIES LEAVES A POSITIVE LASTING IMPRESSION

Mike Sullivan, Managing Director of GOJO Industries-Europe explains why your washroom facilities are so important.

Washroom facilities are a major source of complaints in office buildings, with extreme temperatures (47%) and unclean / understocked washrooms (32%) being the top two grievances. Upgrading health and hygiene facilities provides building owners and managers a clear opportunity to increase overall tenant satisfaction and will leave users with a positive lasting impression.

Companies invest millions in technology, innovation and recruiting the right people to gain competitive advantage, and it’s easy to understand why attention to these areas is so important. Sometimes however, the significant difference made with a relatively small investment in access to effective hand hygiene systems, is overlooked. It can reduce employee absenteeism, leading to increased productivity which is vital for profitability and customer satisfaction.

Well–designed systems can also benefit the facilities management team by minimising the labour time involved to service and maintain them. Managing a facility requires attention to many aspects of that building – if the hand hygiene system in place takes up too much of your time or attention, why not install a system that will not only minimise complaints, but actually add value, allowing more time to be spent in other key areas.

systems can contribute to helping cut down workplace absenteeism through illness. Not only does this reduce the risk of germs leaving the washroom but the addition of health and hygiene facilities provides building owners and managers a clear opportunity to increase overall tenant or staff satisfaction.

Hand hygiene and skin care doesn’t just start and end in the washroom. Systems need to be accessible throughout an entire workplace. Our hands come into contact with a huge range of surfaces and materials during any typical day, so skin health and hygiene is something that should be considered every step of the way.

Washing your hands after using the toilet is vitally important and should always be the first line of defence against germs. Numerous reports however, have revealed that not enough of us do it. Hand hygiene should not just be associated with the washroom, it needs to be adhered to throughout the day, wherever you are.

EASE OF USE AND

AESTHETICS In order to be truly successful, the right products and systems need to combine ease of use and service, good aesthetics and accessibility whilst being equipped with pleasant and effective hygienically advanced formulations. To put it simply, products and systems that people actually want to use.

The GOJO portfolio includes hand cleaning, hand washing, hand sanitising and skin care formulas under the renowned GOJO® and

PURELL® brand names. GOJO dispensers are easy to service and built to last – with performance guaranteed – and they have been designed to appeal to the end user, a key factor in ensuring hand hygiene compliance.

Dispensers that look good and are easy to use, which are sited at both key and convenient locations, are bound to be more popular. The use of innovative technology also helps, and that’s why touch-free dispensers are proving so popular. These intuitively sense the presence of hands and dispense just the right amount of product every time. The fact that they are touch-free also increases their hygiene rating, doing away with another surface to touch.

Two of the most popular models from the GOJO range are the:

• LTXTM – The Lifetime Performance Dispenser (touch- free) comes in 1200ml sizes – perfect for high traffic areas - and 700ml sizes, ideal for where space is limited.

• ADXTM – The Anywhere Design Dispenser (manual) is available in 1250ml for GOJO soaps, 1200ml for PURELL Hand Sanitisers and also the compact 700ml for both soap and sanitiser.

SUSTAINABILITY Both the LTX and ADX systems carry

the GOJO Lifetime Performance Guarantee – a dependability promise that even includes the batteries in the touch-free model. This is made possible by the use of Smart, Trouble- Free Electronics, a patent pending
