THOMAS DUDLEY AND ECO- CISTEM UNITE TO DELIVER GROUNDBREAKING WATER-
SAVING INNOVATION Thomas Dudley Ltd has announced its partnership with eco-cistem™, sustainable water management solution. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the development of environmentally conscious building technologies, reinforcing Thomas Dudley’s commitment to innovation through teamwork, trusted partnerships, and a family-first approach to business.
The eco-cistem is a toilet cistern that uses grey condensate water - typically discarded from air
conditioning units - to flush toilets, significantly reducing the demand for mains water. The concept was initiated by the directors of G&H, an MEP building services company based in Yorkshire, in response to a client’s sustainability goals and the growing challenge of managing condensation in modern buildings.
Recognising the potential of this idea, G&H turned to Thomas Dudley to help bring the product to life. Over two years of close collaboration, the teams worked together to design, test, and refine the eco-cistem. The result is a patented, twin- chamber cistern that prioritises grey water usage while maintaining high-performance flushing standards. Early installations have demonstrated up to 64% savings in
maximum eco
mains water consumption across commercial buildings.
“This project is a testament to what can be achieved when like- minded organisations come together with a shared purpose,” said Josh Bennett, Innovations Manager at Thomas Dudley Ltd. “We’re proud to have played a part in developing a product that supports sustainability and reflects our values of partnership and innovation.”
The eco-cistem is designed for concealed installation and is compatible with all major sanitaryware brands. It fits standard service voids and offers adjustable flush volumes to suit global requirements. The eco- cistem components have received WRAS approval, passed KIWA’s AB Air Gap test (Category 5), and qualify for BREEAM and LEED water efficiency credits.
In 2023, G&H appointed Paul Crossley as Managing Director of eco-cistem, further strengthening the collaboration. Together, the teams have streamlined UK manufacturing and completed successful case studies. The product is now in stock and available for distribution.
As climate change drives increased demand for air conditioning, the eco-cistem offers a timely and practical solution for reducing water waste. Even a small 1.75kW air conditioning unit can produce over a litre of condensate per hour - water that can now be put to good use.

CHURCHILL GROUP AWARDED
BRONZE ECOVADIS MEDAL Churchill Group has retained its Bronze EcoVadis Medal and improved on its score from last year, placing it in the 71st percentile of all companies rated.
The company’s environmental performance was a particular highlight, with full marks for both certifications and coverage – reflecting the breadth of its ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 accreditations across its operations. It also achieved particularly strong improvements
across labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
Churchill Group has also validated near-term science-based targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4% by FY2032, aligned with the 1.5°C pathway.
The increasingly advancing sustainability landscape across the wider combined facilities services support activities sector makes being awarded, or retaining, an EcoVadis medal more challenging each year, and Churchill Group remains committed to maintaining its momentum.
Thomas Farrell, environment manager at Churchill Group, said: “Maintaining our EcoVadis Bronze Medal while improving our overall score is a fantastic achievement and reflects the real progress we’re making across our business. We are proud that our sector is increasingly competitive, and we remain focused on strengthening our sustainability performance year on year.”
