Happy New Year! Welcome to the January issue of Tomorrow’s FM.

Another year, another winter in which the trials and tribulations of Covid-19 continue to go on unabated. With the Omicron variant acting as the catalyst for the largest number of recorded cases since the onset of the virus, staffing levels across various sectors is becoming a huge issue for some companies. Nowhere, right now, are staffing levels more important than in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

Fitting then, that we take a deep dive into the sector in our Hospital & Healthcare Facilities feature this month. Tork’s Liam Mynes looks at ways to keep staff and patients safe in overcrowded A&E departments, whilst BRITA VIVREAU, analyses the impact of Covid-19 on healthcare settings, the importance of providing safe and hygienic spaces that employees feel confident working in and the benefits of additional hygiene measures.

Elsewhere, for our Construction & BIM feature, Peter Sayce, Chief Product Officer at Bramble Energy, talks us through a recent survey by the company that reveals just over half of participants either do not have a sustainability agenda in place or are not confident they will reach the Net Zero target of 2050. He delves into the issues some companies are facing and suggests ways through this ‘roadblock’.

We also take a look at Lighting sector with Prime Light and TheisCraft providing analyses on the latest technology and how it helps improve employee wellbeing.

On behalf of the entire Tomorrow’s FM team, we wish you a prosperous new year and hope that we can steer you through the next few months.

Enjoy the read!
