Love Recycling Research Project by Rubbermaid Commercial Products

ABOUT THIS PRODUCT...

Combining love with recycling may not seem like a natural choice at first. But both words convey a sense of caring for others.

At the start of 2020, RCP launched the Love Recycling Research Project. An ongoing investigation into the commercial recycling and waste management practices of European businesses. The goal of the project was to understand the perceptions businesses have and the challenges they face in the drive to create greater levels of sustainability.

Throughout the year, Love Recycling has run research surveys taking in the views of over 1,000 businesses across Europe. These range from single-person owner-operated businesses to corporate multinationals.

The aim has been to gather data and information to understand the recycling landscape at multiple levels. Across Europe, how well is commercial recycling performing? What are the problem areas? Do specific sectors face specific problems or is their parity? How can businesses do more without increasing spend? How can they optimise recycling efforts?

Gathering the data to answer these questions is the first step. Sharing the findings with businesses is the next. Love Recycling created a suite of reports to help businesses understand how they are performing against others within their sector and how they fit in as part of a larger continental picture.

There are not many points on which the vast majority of businesses agree, but commercial recycling is one of them. Most businesses surveyed this year rank the improvement of commercial recycling within the organisation as more important than short term returns for shareholders. This demonstrates the inherent care in recycling.

The Love Recycling initiative from RCP continues to support businesses across Europe with more research-driven recycling information.

RCP will continue to develop durable and innovative product solutions that improve sustainability, reduce waste, save money and protect our planet.
