COVER STORY

Manager, Adrian Owens said: “One of my KPI’s is about cost reduction, so I was keen to trial the Robo 2 to see what cost savings we could achieve.”

Adrian was extremely pleased with the performance of the Robo 2, he said: “I have found the performance exceptionally good compared to a normal scrubber dryer. It is the best machine I have seen in a long time. I have been using scrubber dryers for the past 20 years, and I wouldn’t dare go as close to the edge as the Robo 2 does. It is a very, very good machine.”

We currently have another trial underway, and are actively searching for other trial sites to ensure we test the machine in a variety of environments.

TRADE CLEANING

MACHINES RE-VAMP Established as a division of ICE in 2008, Trade Cleaning Machines (TCM) is undergoing a major re-vamp. TCM facilitates all of ICE’s short term hire and refurbished machines sales, as well as housing all of

our in-house workshops and repairs. Based a

few miles from our head office and showrooms

We have the ICE Scrub, ICE Sweep and ICE Mop – all designed to be portable, lightweight and ‘always ready’.

The Robo 2 We are also delighted to be carrying out a number of trials of our new robotic cleaning machine – The Robo 2.

Our first trial site was the SSE Arena in Belfast, through our partners CE Facilities Services, who were looking to reduce the cost of cleaning, and were keen to see what savings the Robo 2 could bring to them. CE Facilities Services Venue Cleaning

in Southampton, TCM is currently undergoing a total refurbishment of the warehousing and workshop facilities in Eastleigh.

The new workshops will include state- of-the-art engineering equipment, a spray booth, wash bay and seven fully functional work bays for machines repairs, refurbishment and preparation.

“The new investment in this facility means ICE can continue its quest to drive quality and customer experience throughout our entire business model. The re-vamp will enhance our ability to drive more output through

the workshops” says TCM’s General Manager Rob McInally.

It will also see a new in-house engineer Training Academy for both new staff inductions and ongoing training of internal and field based service technicians. This new academy will dovetail the investment we have made in our on-line training and upskilling programme that we have been doing with engineers for some time.

To sum up the ongoing success and direction of the business, Mark Bresnihan, Managing Director of ICE said: “Our business model continues to develop and evolve in line with the cleaning market. The consistent growth we have seen over the last three years is encouraging, and expresses a level of belief that our products, services and innovations are what both new and existing customers are looking for.

“We are very excited about the future strategic opportunities across all or our various business disciplines, and are very focussed on continuing our journey for customer service excellence, quality and innovation.”
