But that’s just the start to the company’s story. Today, i4F owns and manages over 3,000 patents and technologies, grouped into six clusters within its Patent Cluster Concept.
This breadth of portfolio is made possible thanks to partnerships with some of the world’s most innovative flooring companies, including Classen, Kronospan, HMTX, UWC, Kowon, CFL Flooring, Tarkett, Kingdom Flooring, Lico, Benchwick, QuickStyle Industries and Hymmen.
i4F’S PORTFOLIO OF PATENTS AND TECHNOLOGIES FALL INTO
SIX KEY CLUSTERS First and foremost, its leadership position and core strength is in flooring installation, with its one piece drop-lock system positioned as the industry’s new global standard. The other five clusters offer the world’s most advanced digital printing technologies, surface finishing - including amazing technologies that imitate ceramic grouts - materials and panel compositions, wall and ceiling installation systems and sustainable manufacturing processes.
“We believe that even the smallest innovations have the potential to transform not just products, but the lives of the people that use them. It’s why we own and represent thousands of patents and technologies. And it’s why we continue to develop more, both independently and with our partners. Together, we have the opportunity to shape the environments in which people around the world live, work, connect and play. Through our technologies and partnerships, we’re revolutionising the way an entire industry thinks about flooring, surfaces and beyond.”
John Rietveldt, i4F founder and CEO DIGITAL PRINTING FOR FLOORING
IS HERE Almost everything and anything is made possible with digital printing technology. This fast growing market is of strategic importance for the future of the flooring industry.
i4F recently announced a patent partnership with Hymmen, a leading global digital printing systems provider 100% dedicated to flooring.
As a result, i4F enjoys exclusive licensing rights for all Hymmen’s digital printing patents and technologies, including Hymmen’s Digital Lacquer Embossing - or DLE – technology that won an Interzum Red Dot Award in 2019. Hymmen provides most of the digital printing lines in the global flooring industry. This represents a significant addition to i4F’s already strong digital printing portfolio - including market leading technologies from Classen, Kronospan and Benchwick.
Through meaningful innovation, i4F continuously strives to raise the bar and to facilitate and speed up the mass market uptake of new technologies.
